Lovesick is the creation of Tom Wright and Jon Holmes – two friends who bring their diverse passions and a ton of wedding experience together to bring your event to life.
Our journey began as “Hi-Society Entertainment,” a word-of-mouth DJ duo that soon had Tom and Jon live-spinning at seventy weddings each year for clients that were looking for something beyond the traditional. Throughout the seasons, we found that we kept seeing the same small handful of vendors at every wedding. It became clear to us that our clientele was actively seeking like-minded, progressive wedding professionals. So, we decided to produce an event that put all of those original vendors and couples in the same room at the same time -- The Lovesick Expo. In 2011, we brought another love of ours, filmmaking, to the wedding world, utilizing Jon’s shooting and editing abilities to create wedding films unlike anything out there.
We built up the team by recruiting the most talented people we know so that even more couples will get to experience what a truly fresh, creative event can feel like. And now with the addition of our photography services, Lovesick has become an eclectic one-stop-shop for those looking to challenge the wedding mainstream. We work mainly in Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Brooklyn, but often travel throughout the East Coast and to destination events around the globe.
Jonathan Holmes has spent his entire life drenched in fillm and music. He began performing as a DJ at events all over the Northeast beginning in 1999 at Haverford College, developing his skills while earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts and Education. Jon’s studies led him to a job as a photography and videography teacher at a prominent boarding school. Through Lovesick, he has been able to spin seamless music mixes, take inspired images, and produce edgy and sentimental films for countless couples. Jon also serves as Executive Director of a small Philadelphia-based non-profit. In his free time, he enjoys surfing, gardening, and vegetarian cooking. He lives by the beach in New Jersey’s first “LEED-Silver” green home with his wife, Cara, daughters, Sophie and Alice, and a couple of chickens, too.
Thomas Wright is a lifelong musician who has injected care and creativity into more than a thousand events. His attention to detail is helped in part by over a decade in the communications field. Tom’s skills have found him working alongside everyone from major-label punk bands to government bigwigs. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. When not at a computer creating playlists and timelines, Tom can be found passionately singing in the car, soaking up pop culture, or venturing off to a sunny vacation spot. He lives in South Jersey, with his wife, Tiffany, and their hairless cat, Oliver.
Adam Levy made a name for himself as owner of Roots & Groove Entertainment -- Philadelphia's only other legitimate turntable DJ company. He came to Lovesick in 2012, bringing rave reviews from hundreds of couples. Adam holds a Master of Arts in Psychology and is a professor at his alma mater. Adam lives just outside of the city in Flourtown, PA, with his wife, Jodi, and his kids, Sage and Simone. When he's not doing "dad" stuff with the family, he enjoys running a research lab, cooking, collecting vinyl, and hanging out with his dog, Cash.
Cenna Wilkerson was born and raised in Oklahoma City. She moved east in 1999 to study film and play field hockey at Penn State. She soon landed at The Art Institute of Philadelphia to learn about, as she puts it, “the magic of pixels.” As a seasoned editor and compositor, from documentary to national politics, Cenna's many hours in the editor's seat have afforded her an eye for composition and attention to detail that continues to give back when she's behind the camera. When not out shooting or at home editing, she loves exploring Philly’s diverse eateries, veggie cooking with goodies from her CSA, and running in the Wissahickon. She currently lives in Germantown with her two cats, Boog and Mouse, and hopes to add a pet goat to the family one day.
Jason Stewart is never seen without his camera. He began dabbling in the wedding world after years of shooting and producing artful music projects and other commercial pieces. He brings to the team an innate talent, tech knowledge, and even a few cool toys, to create awe-inspiring images that perfectly mesh with Lovesick’s creative clientele. Jason lives in Center City with his wife, Danielle and his daughter, Freyja. He can often be spotted in Philly’s best vegan eateries, or out capturing snapshots of the city and its people for his award-winning Instagram. He also once met Ryan Gosling and that is pretty damn cool.
Tiffany Wright is the behind-the-scenes rock star. She has been attentively watching Lovesick from the sidelines since the very beginning and officially joined the team in summer 2013 to bring a new level of organization to the company’s many ventures. Much of Tiffany’s experience was gained as the administrative assistant for a local non-profit organization, among other career ventures. Additionally, Tiffany has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Monmouth University. In the off hours, she can be found crocheting scarves and blankets, reading sexually-explicit biographies, or practicing yoga in her living room.
Geoff Grant is a killer DJ from a small town called Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. He got his start on the house party circuit, and then on the airwaves at Temple University where he earned his degree in Broadcasting. He found Lovesick after spending a few years in another corner of the wedding industry, giving him a well-rounded perspective on what makes a cool event. When not spinning, Geoff can be found on the dance floor at the Dolphin Tavern, sipping a beer at Morgan’s Pier, or having a bite at one of East Passyunk’s local eateries.
Doug Raus has always had a thing for music. He graduated from William Paterson University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Sound Engineering. As an active music producer and recording engineer in the Philadelphia music scene, Doug’s production skills have helped elevate hundreds of creative artists around the tri-state area to a higher level. Doug lives in West Philly with his girlfriend, Jordyn, and their cats, Bear and Shark. In his free time, he is either baking a quiche or working out a new puzzle at the rock climbing gym.
